Welcome to the Friends of the Oxfordshire Museum.

The Oxfordshire Museum in Park Street, Woodstock is open. The Museum website may be found HERE.

We are urging visitors to continue to wear a face covering in the building; to observe social distancing and use the hand sanitizers provided. The Test and Trace system has made a huge impact on identifying positive cases, breaking chains of transmission and supporting businesses to stay open. We therefore strongly encourage all visitors to use the App or complete a form on arrival, but it is no longer a requirement that visitors should do so before being admitted.

Garden Gallery temporary exhibition: Skeleton Science

The exhibition in the garden gallery is entitled ‘Skeleton Science‘. It was created by Durham University, and traces the journey of a skeleton from excavation to the laboratory, showing how scientific analysis can help us to understand more about the lives of people in the past. It explores the evidence for age, sex, disease, injury, cause of death and possible family relationships between people. The exhibition runs from 21st May 2021 till 27th August 2021.
