Iron Age (8th to 7th century BC) Hoard, Hook Norton OXCMS : 2024.46
The hoard consisted of a single-edged trapezoidal razor with an openwork handle and a socket fragment of a leather-working knife or chisel. In his seminal work on razors Jockenhovel studied over 700 razors but less than 80 were of types like the Hook Norton example with only about 6 being identified from the UK at the time of writing.
The knife or chisel is an almost unique form, and is unlikely to appear again in the county.
